Pond Creek, OK Harvest

We started wheat in Pond Creek, OK last week. This is the second day we’ve been shut down due to rain on Sunday night.

I drove the combine for a couple of days this week, it’s been 6 years since I’ve cut wheat. I drove a little last fall when we did corn in South Dakota but not all day. It’s so amazing all the improvements in the newer machines. I can’t imagine what it will be like when our boys are older.

Sadie couldn't take it anymore, she fell asleep on me.

A little Bambi was hanging around us all day. She had been separated from her mom and both of them were frantically looking for each other.

We sent Mick and Max home on a plane from OKC to spray our crops in North Dakota on Monday. They will be back by the end of the week.image

I took some pics of the elevator in Enid, OK. I didn’t know the elevator was such a big deal until this winter we watched Aerial America Oklahoma on tv and they were showing the elevator. Enid was known as the wheat capital of America. Here’s some more information on Wikipedia.20130618-195840.jpg

We should be able to get the combines rolling again in the morning.
