Our Custom Harvesting Travels

We finished up our jobs in Oklahoma and headed for home. This year was hard on Kansas, Nebraska & South Dakota winter wheat. There was always something affecting the crops. A lot of it was due to drought and freezing temps at the wrong time. We knew we didn’t have work and probably couldn’t pick up any work since all the custom harvesters were in the same position. We spent a week and a half at home. It was good to be home and a very welcome break.

One of the last nights we were home there was a severe weather warning with high winds and possible hail. We scurried around the yard to get everything inside and closed up. We lucked out and only had wind and a very welcome rain.

We caught up on things at home, sprayed and worked our summer fallow. We headed back to Stockton, KS where we left our equipment.

We stopped in a neat little hobby shop in Stockton, KS. Train towns were setup throughout the store.

We left Stockton, KS and headed for Hardin, MT. Here are some pictures along the way.

Kansas

We stayed overnight in Kadoka, SD.

Entering Sturgis

The vendors were setup for rally week.

We missed our turn outside of Sturgis but checked for width restrictions and found we were good to go so proceeded on thru the black hills.

Our little Max lost his first tooth this week and another the next day!

This was our sunset last night from Hardin, MT.
