Catch The Moment #16

Things are picking up around Brown Acres.  The blog is always the first thing to go.  I’ve done fairly well at taking photos but have difficulty finding time to post them.  Here are my pics for week #16.

Day-107

Day 107 Several swans were swimming south of our place.

Day-108

Day 108 Max was showing off his new Brazil shirt from one of our new guys, Ricardo.

Day-109

Day 109 I made chocolate pizza.  Ricardo had been telling us about this delicious chocolate pizza they have in Brazil.  We baked a pizza crust topped with mozzarella then poured melted chocolate chips on top.  It was served with ice cream.  It was delicious!  Ricardo said the mozzarella they use is a bit sweeter.  He loved the homemade ice cream.

Day-110

Day 110 We moved some equipment home to prepare it for the field.

Day-111

Day 111 Easter Sunday was a beautiful day.  We had dinner in the garage.  A few of our bachelor neighbors joined us too.  Our boys were busy playing in the sand for the photo.

Day-112

Day 112 An aerial of the area.  Things are still very brown around here.

Day-113

Day 113 Our sunset.

Catch The Moment Week #9

Another bitterly cold week in North Dakota!  We spent most of the time indoors.  We had sickness make its round in the house this week.  Hopefully we’re on the end of it now!  We’ve been pretty fortunate this year health wise.  Here are my captures from the week.

North Dakota Sunset

Our only North Dakota sunset from the week. It’s been a very cloudy & windy week around here.

North Dakota ground blizzard

This is the way it goes in North Dakota, especially this time of the year.  We had dentist appointments an hour away today and had a blustery drive down.

day-59

This weeks theme is ‘Day in the Life’. This is typical around here – the girls come inside to warm up. We’ve had another bitterly cold week again -30°F on a few days. They spent a lot of time inside this week.

Day60

This is another typical scene. This time of the year usually brings the frost out.

Day 61

Brett just wanted to watch his movie. Of course Mollie-Jayne had other plans.  He was getting annoyed by her silliness.

Day 62

This is the longest Mick’s plane has ever sat outside since we’ve had it.  He’s had a lot going on in the shop so it got the boot and sat in front of the house for close to a month.  When he went to move it, there was too much snow and it was stuck.  He wasn’t very appreciative of me capturing it either. 🙂

Day 63

My Max hasn’t made it in very many pictures since he’s at school during the day.  I definitely need to work on this. We made chocolate cake for dad. Max had to have the beater!

February #catchthemoment Week #5

Here are my #catchthemoment pics from this week.DSC_0490

The ongoing battle of snow removal seems to be a daily occurrence around here.

Sadie my sweet Sheltie stayed up late with me working on a sewing project. She’ll be 1 at the end of the month.

Friday we attended the farm show in Minot, ND.  We had supper at Kroll’s Diner before we left town.  Our boys shared one of those rare sentimental moments.

Max & Brett shared a bowl of leftover chili for supper.  Some days they get along so good! This has been an exceptional week for them!

Sunday we went to pickup our old car for a good washing.  We have it up for sale this week.  It’s a 1964 98 Oldsmobile with all the electric gadgets.  Pretty high tech for then! We bought it last year from my husbands’ cousin but never seem to have time to drive it.  The boys love riding in it!

The sunset at the Devils Lake, ND airport while we were picking up the plane from its annual.  Sometimes it’s hard to pick just one.  I had to throw in a plane pic after its annual with the shiny prop.  It won’t last long!

I cut open this tomato and found sprouts while making homemade tomato soup.  I’ve had sprouted peppers & squash, but never a tomato!  I should’ve planted it!
