A Flower Tour

I was playing with my camera taking pictures of our flowers in the farm-yard these were taken on May 20.  The bleeding hearts are my favorite spring flowers, they seem to grow into a bush full of flowers overnight.  20120524-000922.jpgPink Bleeding Hearts

Pond Creek

We arrived in Pond Creek, OK we were able to get the last 2 spots available in an RV park.  There are no amenities like we had at the previous place but we do have electric, sewer & water – the most important things!  There is a place to eat which has a grill, fryer & ice cream served until 6 pm which is what we had for supper today. The population of Pond Creek is 734 there is a grocery store, laundry mat, parks & a pool in town.  We are 23 miles from Enid, OK which has a population of about 50,000.  We bought a second camper since there are no hotels available due to the oil & gas drilling, wind-towers & harvesters in the area.  Mick will go pick up the camper in Pratt, KS tomorrow.  We got everything unloaded, setup & started combining late this afternoon.  Everyone we have met so far has been so nice & accommodating.  We will be here for a few days and maybe move north back to Kansas.  The high for today is 94°.  Rigs like this are all over in the country.

Lifting the header onto the combine.

Combining the first wheat of the year.

Brett was having fun exploring and watching dad.  The combine is a tractor to him no matter what.
